Raised in Central Ohio, I moved to the Boston area for college and have remained ever since. After a brief period as a pre-med concentrator, I graduated with a degree in Government in 2002 and went on to law school from which I graduated in 2005. Now in my fourth year at Ropes, I work primarily in the Life Sciences Practice and the Intellectual Property Group. In addition, I have been able to work on several pro bono projects in the Boston community.
Ropes' commitment to the Attorneys of Color (AOC) Group and diversity in general was first apparent to me during law school when I interviewed at Ropes. I was impressed and encouraged by the visibility and dynamic nature of the Group. Members of the AOC Group, in addition to others at the firm, went out of their way to make sure that all of my questions were honestly and openly addressed. During my time as a summer associate, it was wonderful to observe that the Group was not just active during recruiting season — it was firmly embedded in the culture and mission of Ropes as a whole. Now, an associate, I am excited to be a part of the AOC Group as it continues to grow and enhance its already significant impact.
