I am a mid-level associate in the Health Care Department at Ropes & Gray and have continued to enjoy the diversity at Ropes & Gray, and not just in ethnic or cultural backgrounds.  At Ropes & Gray, diversity includes diversity of thought, political views, gender, religion, outside interests and activities, sexual orientation, previous professional experience and the like.  I am fourth-generation Japanese and was born and raised in Hawaii and was lucky to return to Hawaii for a judicial clerkship before starting at the firm.  Much of my family is still there and with frequent visits, I enjoy my role as the resident travel advisor to colleagues and friends planning trips to Hawaii whether for honeymoons, vacations or work.  I have been an active member of the Attorneys of Color Group and have found many friends and mentors through the supportive networks created formally and informally here.
