I am a third year associate in the Corporate Department. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and finally escaped the cold to join the San Francisco office of Ropes & Gray. Growing up in a small town where my mother was not only the first Hispanic circuit court judge but also the first woman to hold such a position taught me the value of diversity of viewpoints in the legal profession. I primarily chose Ropes & Gray because of the collegial environment and truly challenging legal work that I found here. However, once I began as an associate, I was impressed with the diverse set of viewpoints that I discovered. My colleagues are from all over the country and all over the world. They have traveled many different paths to arrive at Ropes & Gray and bring with them a wealth of knowledge from their diverse backgrounds that contributes to making all of us better lawyers.
