When I began my job search as a 2L, I was looking for a firm with a Boston office, a strong national reputation and a wide variety of practice areas.  Ropes & Gray stood out to me for a number of reasons. Not only did it meet these three criteria, but, equally as important, the firm has a palpable culture of openness and collegiality, which I recognized as early as my call-back interview. My experience as a summer associate exceeded my expectations as I was able to work on a variety of challenging substantive matters as well as meet many of the interesting and talented people that work here. As an active member of the Attorneys of Color Group and the GLBT Forum, I have been encouraged by the firm's commitment to attracting, supporting and retaining attorneys of diverse backgrounds. Ropes is also strongly committed to developing  talented young attorneys,  as demonstrated by the extensive formal training provided and the level of client responsibility expected of junior associates. For these and many other reasons, Ropes & Gray has been a great place for me to begin my legal career.
