I am a second-generation Indian-American. My parents came to the United States in the 1970s to pursue higher education and eventually settled down in Connecticut. I have spent most of my life on the east coast, getting my B.A. from Amherst College and my J.D. at Harvard. I fell in love with Boston during law school, and knew it was the only place I wanted to work and live after I graduated. Recognizing that Boston itself is not the most diverse city, I was extremely impressed by Ropes & Gray's commitment to attracting and retaining individuals with diverse backgrounds. One of the most important criteria for me during the interviewing process was finding a firm culture that was friendly and tuly committed to training and developing its associates. I feel lucky to have found that at Ropes & Gray. As a member of the firm's Attorney of Color group, I have formed friendships and mentoring relationships with associates and partners at the firm. I continue to be impressed by the firm's commitment to issues of diversity and to encouraging the professional development of its associates at all levels.
