I joined Ropes & Gray in 2006 as a member of the Corporate Department and I work in the New York office. I've continued to be impressed by Ropes' commitment to diversity and the firm's support of the GLBT forum. For instance, Ropes included my partner in several recruiting and summer associate events, even flying him to Boston to attend the annual Coordinating Lawyer Event during the summer. We attended the firm's last Winter Ball (a formal event for all lawyers in the firm) together.

I'm involved with Immigration Equality, a pro bono organization that advocates on behalf of bi-national gay and lesbian couples and GLBT and HIV-positive asylum seekers. Ropes started taking on asylum cases from Immigration Equality in 2007, and another associate and I have had the opportunity to help a HIV-positive Peruvian gay man petition for asylum in the United States.

I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2002 with a degree in business. After interning in London during college, I returned for graduate school at the London School of Economics. I earned my J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin where I was a member of the Texas International Law Journal. During my third year of law school, I lived in Paris and earned a LL.M. in French and European Law from the University of Paris I-Sorbonne.

Feel free to send me an email if you have an questions about the GLBT forum or Ropes in general.
