Antitrust

Recent highlights of the Litigation Department's antitrust practice include:

  • Represented European copper tubing producers against claims of illegal price fixing.
  • Persuaded Department of Justice to drop its investigation of major financial institutions on grounds that lobbying activities were protected by the First Amendment.
  • Successfully defended Massachusetts' largest HMO against claims by pharmacies of unlawful exclusive dealing.
  • Paved the way for $500 million merger of Picturetel and Polycom by persuading Department of Justice to drop its investigation of the deal.
  • Representing Fidelity in federal antitrust litigations alleging violations of Robinson-Patman Act via preferential allocations of hot IPO's.

Matt Garvey (New York University School of Law '02) has teamed up with partner Jane Willis on a number of antitrust matters since joining the firm.
