sports clients on litigation and other matters. Recent examples
include a successful litigation for a sports promoter against
a sponsor and advice to a major university basketball coach
on his rights under the Freedom of Information Act. |
Recent highlights of the Litigation Department's sports
law practice include:
- Represented the University of Miami in connection with its
decision to withdraw from the Big East Conference and join the
Atlantic Coast Conference.
- Successfully represented the Boston Red Sox in a trial over
the right of a bankruptcy trustee to auction Red Sox season tickets.
- Advise Reebok concerning its rights under the terms of a
license agreement to manufacture goods with Major League Baseball
team logos.
- Won a decision allowing Boston Red Sox to utilize street abutting
Fenway Park as a pedestrian mall on game days.
