What do we do?
We represent public figures and well-known institutions in significant high-profile disputes. These matters are often handled under the glare of intense media attention.

John Ray (Harvard Law School '00), Holly Caldwell (Duke University School of Law '02) and Turner Buford (Harvard Law School '03) have litigated on behalf of the estate of Enron CEO Kenneth Lay. All three clerked before beginning their legal practices.

What have we done lately?

  • Won reversal of conviction of Enron CEO Kenneth Lay following his death, and continue to represent his estate in ongoing litigation.
  • Successfully negotiated on behalf of the Archdiocese of Boston a landmark settlement of over 500 clergy abuse cases. For a description of an associate's role in this matter, click here.
  • Pursuing judgment against defendants accused of defrauding El Salvadoran charities out of contributions intended for earthquake relief. For a description of an associate's role in this matter, click here
  • Achieved a landmark agreement with the Duane Reade chain of drug stores on behalf of our client, Disabled in Action, to improve access to stores for New Yorkers with mobility impairments.
  • Defeated a residency challenge by the Massachusetts Democratic party to then-gubernatorial candidate Mitt Romney, based on his years of service in Utah as CEO of the Salt Lake Olympic Organizing Committee.
  • Represented group of Chilean victims of former dictator Augusto Pinochet in settlement with bank involved in concealing Pinochet's assets.
